2008年，是中国和卡塔尔建交20周年。2月25日至3月4日，受国家民委指派，“多彩中华”中国民族服饰表演团来到卡塔尔首都多哈。这是“多彩中华”这艘文化交流的信使之帆首次驶入波斯弯，初次迈入神秘、富饶的阿拉伯世界。精彩的演出为两国正在开展的各项友好邦交活动宣传造势，烘托气氛，达到了进一步推动中卡文化交流、增进两国人民友好往来的积极效果。演出活动在卡塔尔引起极大的反响，卡塔尔王后、公主、外交助理大臣等政要现场观看了演出，盛赞演出非常精彩。中国中央电视台制作并播出电视专题片《多彩中华炫多哈》。
      “Colourful China” Tour in Qatar

2008 marks the 20th anniversary of the establishing diplomatic relations between China and Qatar. From February 25 to March 4, entrusted by State Ethnic Affairs Commission, “Colourful China” China’s Ethnic Costumes and Accessories Performance Delegation performed in Doha, capital of Qatar. The “Colourful China” boat took its maiden voyage into Persian Gulf, and entered in the mysterious affluent Arabian world. The wonderful performance posed a good atmosphere for mutual friendship activities, and further promoted cultural exchanges between the two countries. The performance brought a great effect in Qatar. The Queen, Princesses, Assistant Chancellor of Foreign Ministry and political officials watched the performance, and highly commended it. CCTV produced and televised the feature programme Colourful China Shines Doha.
